Who?

Membership in the National Lawyers Guild is open to attorneys, law students, legal workers (which includes legal observers) and jailhouse lawyers (to learn more about joining as a jailhouse lawyer member, click here). Legal workers are defined as anyone who is involved in the work of any office, collective or other institution which has as its primary function the provision of legal services, information or education. If you are not an attorney, law student, or legal worker, please consider becoming a Friend of the NLG

Why?

As a member of the National Lawyers Guild Arkansas Chapter, you will be part a joint effort to protect the civil rights of ordinary Arkansans. You will help determine the direction of the Guild, and you help make us a stronger community of like-minded individuals working for social change. Each lawyer, law student, legal worker or jailhouse lawyer who joins our ranks brings us another step closer to a just state and a just world. We benefit from belonging to a national organization with the stability and experience of our long-standing members across the country, while being part of the vitality of this new chapter and its members who carry on the legacy of the Guild with a sense of urgency and energy.

How?

Become a member to help support the mission and the activities of the NLG’s work in Arkansas. As of 2020, this will be the first ever Guild Chapter in the state. You can join by sending your membership dues to the national chapter and indicating that you wish to become a member of the Arkansas chapter. Suggested membership dues are based on a sliding scale commensurate with your income. Upon joining, you will be prompted on which national committees you are interested in joining, and you will be part of the mailing list of activities and opportunities to participate in Arkansas.
